When your Dissertation is Released..

What happens after submission?

 

  • The document[s] and metadata go to a private holding place where they are reviewed by AU ETD Coordinator.
     
  • Corrections will be made and in some cases the PDF will be replaced by the official PDF received from the department.
     
  • If there are any questions, you will be contacted by the AU ETD Coordinator.
     
  • Upon the successful review of your ETD, the document & metadata are released for immediate publication in Ohiolink.   Ohiolink sends the document and metadata on to UMI/Proquest.   The ETD Coordinator adds the document to AURA - AU's repository
     
  • If you want images [ e.g. professional photo or photo with your chair at defense] and/or professional information [e.g. brief bio, LinkedIN link, other publications, etc.] added to your AURA page, please send these to the ETD Coordinator.
     
  • You will receive an email from Ohiolink & the ETD Coordinator. 

 

What happens after the dissertation is published?

 

  • The ETD automatically appears in the  Ohiolink ETD Center.
     
  • The ETD is uploaded into AURA : Antioch University Repository and Archive
  • Your Dissertation is catalogued into  WorldCAT - a catalog of holdings from worldwide libraries
     
  • Your Dissertation and metadata are transferred to Proquest/UMI.   You metadata will be included in the Proquest  Dissertations and Theses Database.  Your dissertation will go into longterm storage and will be available for print on demand purchase.  [ You must keep your address current with Proquest to receive royalties, should there be any sales.]
     
  • Your metadata may [eventually] be picked up from Proquest/UMI and added to PsycINFO and other databases.
     
  • You can optimize discovery by creating inbound links to your permalinks anywhere on the Internet, including your LinkedIn Page, Wikipedia, personal or professional pages, etc. 
     
  • You will be solicited by rogue publishers
     
  • You might want to give us feedback.
     
  • You will be solicited by rogue publishers
     
  • You may want to register your copyright
     
  • You may want to advertise your dissertation by placing links to your AURA page on the Internet
     
  • You may want to upload your Author Introduction to Youtube.
     
  • You have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
     
  • You are done.
