 Can You Download Full Text?

In most cases, Google Books will provide you with a preview and information on how to acquire the resource.

Reminder: Some books can be downloaded if out of print. Some can be purchased.
Whole books and individual chapters can be delivered via WeDeliver! (link)

Can You Export the Citation to Refworks?

The easiest way to get a Google Books record into RefWorks is to use the search function inside of RefWorks (search menu/online catalog or database/Library of Congress).

Alternatively, you can pull the record in from WorldCat Local. (link)

Google Books does have an option to export a record file from Google Books and import it into Refworks.

  1. Once you have found your resource, look for the link "About This Book."
  2. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will find export option buttons.
  3. Click on BibTex. Download and save the file.
  4. Open your RefWorks account and choose References/Import. Set your filter to "BibTEx" and "multiple databases" for your database. The record you import should include a link back to the Google Book.
